Ford, Merchants Fleet, Chargescape names key executives

US automotive industry make key executive changes in fleet management, automotive manufacturing, and electrical vehicle (EV) infrastructure as we move into the fourth quarter of 2024.

In September 2024, Fleet Management companyMerchants FleetappointedJeff Nieman(pictured top far-left) as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the New Hampshire based firm. Mr. Nieman was previously SVP of Product Operations and Field technology for the Hertz car rental corporation where he held various executive positions for nearly 14 years.

Focused on the successful deployment of global product roadmaps and the maintenance of critical infrastructure for companies, among his expertise are fleet electrification and new mobility services. "I am committed to fostering innovation that aligns with an organization’s mission, infusing the corporate culture with diverse perspectives and transformative strategies," says the executive.

Meanwhile,Ford Motor Companyhas appointedDaniel Justo(pictured top center-left) as VP of Ford's customer service division starting in October. Mr. Justo, who is currently CFO of Ford Blue, is a 24-year veteran of the US automaker with extensive experience in South Ameria as well as North America.

In related news, Ford has teamed up with BMW and Honda to createChargeScape, a new company focused on optimizing electric grid services. The firm has just announced the appointment ofJoseph Velloneas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) andKalidindi Rajuas Chief Technical Officer (CTO).

While Mr. Vellone (pictured top center-right) has some 15 years in experience with energy utilities, electric vehicles, and other energy and climate issues, Mr. Raju (pictured top far-right) has comparable experience under the realms of cloud architecture, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other technological aspects.
