Hyundai Motor America has named Claudia Marquez as Chief Operating Officer (COO), now set to lead Hyundai’s U.S. business operations and direct the company’s customer-focused growth strategies.

Márquez was previously COO of Genesis Motor North America where she led the brand in the United States and Canada for the past three years. She has also been CEO of Hyundai Motor in Mexico and has held several prominent industry roles for companies such as Nissan, Infiniti, BMW, and MINI.

Claudia will now be overseeing all sales, distribution, product line management and aftersales activities, as well as shared responsibility for dealer network development for Hyundai vehicles in the U.S. She will report to the CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America, Randy Parker.

In 2024, Hyundai/Kia entered the top 5 best-selling vehicle brands in the United States. Ranked at No. 4, some 1.69 million units were sold, representing a 2.4% increase from 2023. Hyundai is the parent company of Kia.
